I think my love for photography truly began when my grandparents gifted me with a digital Kodak point-and-shoot when I was 10 years old. Although I was a dancer and didn’t have much free time for anything else, the photography class I took in middle school was the highlight of my week.
In college, I was an intern for local government, where I took photos of the people, places, and events of the community that I’d grown up in. Soon after, I found my way into wedding photography, where I began working as an assistant and second shooter for a wedding photographer and then began taking on clients of my own.
Since then, I’ve worked with a variety of clients, including brides and grooms, couples, families, nightclubs, brands, college graduates, dancers, athletes, models, and more. With every project, I am reminded of the power that photography holds — the power to freeze a moment in time, to tell a decades-long story in a brief second, to capture the beauty in someone that they might not see in themselves. Through pursuing this art, I have become more observant, more empathetic, and more curious about what this life can hold. Photography has changed my life for the better, and I know that it can change yours.
